This change is effective from midday AEST Friday September 5 2025. Applications will be assessed in two batches. The Government remains firm that this is a pause only, the funding has not been closed. An extract from their Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program email is below. An extract from the rPPP email notification:
Thank you for your interest in the Australian Government’s $400 million regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP). The rPPP has been open for applications since August 2023. Since then $230 million in funding has been announced for 44 projects across regional, rural and remote Australia. The rPPP application process has now been paused to allow existing applicants to finalise and submit their applications and for all submissions to be assessed by the independent panel. The Australian Government remains committed to supporting transformative projects that will deliver multi-purpose precincts in the regions. $170 million remains available for future projects. Further information is available here. What this means for you If you have already submitted an application: Your application remains in the Business Grants Hub system and will be assessed in accordance with the program guidelines. Applications lodged up to 31 December 2024 will be considered by the independent panel in the next batch, with applications lodged from 1 January 2025 considered thereafter. You will be notified of the outcome once the assessment process is complete. If you have an application in draft status: Draft applications that were commenced before noon 5 September 2025 (AEST) must be finalised and submitted by noon, 17 October 2025 (AEST) to be considered for assessment. The Australian Government appreciates the time and effort invested in developing applications and thanks you for your interest in the rPPP.
